So I know the pieces below may not appear to go together at first glance, but in some weird way, I think they really work! I like the idea of raising the waistline on a skirt or pant if you choose to wear a crop top. This way too much skin isn't exposed and it looks classy sexy, instead of the unwanted attention kind of sexy. I love that A-line skirts are more prominent this spring too! They're so springy and oh-so girly. I also love the vibrant yellow color of the skirt as well. It really adds character to the entire outfit. And the length of the skirt is not too long, but also not too short, and just below knee length. So this is a way to wear trends that are a bit edgier, but still with that element of class, which can appear all-too elusive when trying new things. The fun colors in the bag and bangle also compliment the look and the earrings pick up on the pyramid shape from the bangle, but are in a more neutral gold tone.
Finally, whether you choose to cover up a little bit more, I think adding a lighter toned blazer could help a person tone down the look if you're not completely 100% sold on the crop top alone. I like how this blazer picks up on the lighter flowers in the crop top, so we don't have too many conflicting colors. Then again, who knows, right? You might be out and about and decide that, hey!... You look pretty darn good!
I'd definitely give this one a go. Try incorporating one trendy piece into your outfit (the crop top/high waist, pastels, bright hues, A-line skirt, just-below-the-knee skirt, a floral) or go bold and try a few together. It takes some time before knowing what looks will compliment your personal style but experimenting with one or two things at a time is a greatly increases the odds of your ability to put it all together well!
